“New Model” Firms

An interesting recent article from The Atlantic entitled “Parents in Law: Is It Possible to Be Both an Attorney and a Committed Mom or Dad?” that discusses so-called “New Model” firms that are said to match attorneys with “secondment” assignments at corporations and law firms—allowing attorneys to select flexible schedules that work for them, while retaining all of the responsibility and high-level work that one would find in BigLaw.

The article does not contain detail, however, on other important factors like salary and opportunities for advancement, that would allow one to evaluate how these “New Model” firms really compare to BigLaw in those areas.
