Did you know that September 16th is celebrated each year as Working Parents Day? This special day celebrates parents who work hard all year to provide for their families. Although the origins of Working Parents Day are unknown, it seems logical to suggest it was created by an overworked, under-appreciated mom or dad seeking some basic recognition of their efforts.
As you might expect, there appears to be little recognition for Working Parents Day and it has not taken off as a “Hallmark” holiday yet (that may be a good thing!). The Employee Benefits Network posted a short story today recognizing Working Parents Day in its blog that you might enjoy reading.
In celebration of Working Parents Day, the Young Lawyers Section of the Chicago Bar Association has launched this new blog to provide much needed, easily accessible information to working parents. For all the working parents out there, enjoy your special day. You have earned it!
